Virtual FoxPro User Group Vendor Program

Introduction

The Virtual FoxPro User Group (VFUG) has initiated an online Vendor program. This program is designed for both Hardware & Software vendors who have products that will benefit users of Microsoft (MS) FoxPro (FP) 2.x and Visual FoxPro (VFP) 3.x, 5.x, 6.x and 7.0 Relational Database Management Software (RDBMS). This program is open to all interested vendors who meet certain VFUG criteria.

VFUG Background

VFUG is a world wide gathering place of MS FoxPro developers. We are online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are located on the Internet. We are a recognized MS FoxPro User Group and adhere to those standards. The only difference between us and a ‘normal’ User Group (UG) is that we only exist on the Internet. But we do have Lectures, a monthly Newsletter, and a List Server, among other features that most User Groups have.

In the first four months of VFUG’s existence we have registered over 2,000 members from 80 countries. At of the time of this writing, VFUG had over 32,000 members from over 150 countries. As you can see we are definitely a world wide organization serving an obvious need.

The VFUG Vendor Program

Our program is very simple to join. Any Vendor interested in exposing their wares to a specialized and focused group of Computer Professionals need only send us information on their User Group program. We will then review the information supplied to us for the following criteria:

  1. A product related to the focus of VFUG (i.e.: report writers, utilities, NICs, modems, etc.).
  2. A discount for our members if they decide to purchase your product. Because this posting is free (like everything at VFUG other than the banner ads), we expect that whatever discount that you offer on our site be better than offered anywhere else.  We don't feel that this request is too much to ask for one month of free advertising at our site to which 32,000 members have access.
  3. That your company is legitimate and has no serious outstanding problems with things like product reliability or customer satisfaction.

Once approved by VFUG then we can work out any details and answer any questions you may have. After that you must supply us with an HTML formatted document that we can insert into our UG Vendor area. That will be supplied to our Vendor Relations person, Carl Warner for final publishing on the web.  Also, we expect that each vendor join in on one (or two) Chat sessions during the month not so much to advertise the product or service, but to give background on the evolution of the product and answer any questions that other Chat participants may have.  Write to John Chambers for Chat details.  We will also mention your service in the online newsletter, which is sent out toward the end of that month via e-mail to thousands of members.

What VFUG Will Do For You

Once approved, your company will be highlighted in our Vendor Program area for one calendar month. This offer is good for one calendar month per year, per Vendor.

The single page HTML document can be of any reasonable length and contain any reasonably sized and publicly acceptable viewable graphics. The final content is up to the discretion of the VFUG WebMaster(s)/Officers. The document may also contain links to other Web sites including your own site.

This will give your company’s product exposure to literally thousands of serious Computer Professionals and organizations who are developing products for database systems and networks. You will be targeting people who are directly involved with the development, support and sale of computer software and computer systems.

Before and After

Both before and after (or instead of ) our Vendor program we also have online advertising available to any interested vendors. We have a VFUG Sales and Promotion staff member who will be happy to talk to you about any interest or questions you may have on advertising with us.
